The tornado uprooted a few trees along Roopville-Veal Road near Whitehead Rd. As the tornado continued east it reached maximum intensity before reaching Stoney Point Road where several large trees were snapped, a barn had its roof torn off with metal thrown 100 yards away, and a small shed had its roof torn off. Upon entering the state, the line encountered an enhanced area of low level wind shear as a result of a wedge front which had moved across the ATL metro area earlier in the day from the northeast. As a result of the interaction of the two boundaries, an EF1 tornado with maximum winds of 85-90 mph developed along the leading edge of the line on the northside of the City of Newnan, GA. The tornado first touched down along Riva Ridge Ln along Calumet parkway where a few large limbs were snapped and branches broken from trees in a small neighborhood. The tornado continued northeast into a mostly industrial park region along Niagra Way before crossing Herring Road and Dart road where the tornado reached maximum intensity. Numerous trees were snapped and uprooted along Dart Road. There was minor siding and roof damage to a warehouse along Dart Road. The tornado continued east along Dart road crossing Amlajack blvd snapping trees including in a forested region before reaching I-85. The tornado began to weaken as it crossed I-85 and into another industrial area along International Parkway where numerous large limbs were broken off. Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 75 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.93 miles Path Width /maximum/: 250 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/25/2025 Start Time: 06:40 PM EDT Start Location: 3 ENE Trion / Chattooga County / GA Start Lat/Lon: 34.5568 / -85.2654 End Date: 05/25/2025 End Time: 06:50 PM EDT End Location: 1 SSW Subligna / Chattooga County / GA End Lat/Lon: 34.5497 / -85.1969 Survey Summary: A tornado touched down across far northern Chattooga County, between the small communities of Trion and Subligna just before 7PM EDT, Sunday May 25th. Damage, mainly to trees being snapped or uprooted started around Mountain View Road and Spring Creek Road. Further tree damage was seen along Narrows Road heading up Taylor Ridge. Very few if any access roads exist along the ridge in this area, but additional damage that lines up with the circulation on radar (from KHTX) occurred along Gore Subligna Road where a carport solidly placed into the ground was ripped out of the ground and a large tree snapped on a car nearby. Based on this, will carry the tornado over Taylor's Ridge and end it just east of Gore Subligna Road. From the damage seen, max winds got up to around 75 mph, putting it within an EF-0 rating. .Southwest Gordon County Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 95 mph Path Length /statute/: 6.01 miles Path Width /maximum/: 750 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/25/2025 Start Time: 07:08 PM EDT Start Location: 2 SW Oostanaula / Gordon County / GA Start Lat/Lon: 34.4586 / -85.0397 End Date: 05/25/2025 End Time: 07:23 PM EDT End Location: 3 NNW Adairsville / Gordon County / GA End Lat/Lon: 34.4175 / -84.949 Survey Summary: A tornado quickly set down between Roland Hayes Pkwy SW and Reeves Station Road on either side of the Oostanaula River in southwest Gordon County on Sunday evening (May 25th). A large barn was destroyed with all walls and roof collapsing. The barn had 4x4 posts cemented into the ground (~18 inches deep) that were pulled out of the ground. No trees or other damage indicators around this barn, so max winds estimated around 95 mph here. The tornado, which likely skipped up and down along its entire 6-mile path, tracked southeast snapping a few trees along Miller Ferry Road. Off of Webb Road SW, 4 chicken houses sustained damage - one collapsed and two others had metal siding/roof pieces pulled off. Additional trees were snapped at a residence just south of the chicken farm. Based on the chicken house damage, max winds again topped out around 95 mph in this area. The tornado continued southeast with additional trees snapped or uprooted (mainly EF-0 damage) from Miller Ferry Road to South Holcomb Road. No additional damage was seen east or southeast of this area (just west of Hwy 41 / Old Dixie Hwy NW). The rather large path width of damage (for an EF-1 tornado) could have been due to multiple circulations/vortices that occurred within the broader mesocyclone, but it was difficult to definitively tell based on the storms being nearly 60 miles from the closest 88D radar. .Northern Gordon County Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.26 miles Path Width /maximum/: 100 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/25/2025 Start Time: 07:13 PM EDT Start Location: 1 NW Redbud / Gordon County / GA Start Lat/Lon: 34.5452 / -84.832 End Date: 05/25/2025 End Time: 07:15 PM EDT End Location: 1 NW Redbud / Gordon County / GA End Lat/Lon: 34.5455 / -84.8275 Survey Summary: A very brief tornado associated with a broader line of severe storms, occurred along Owens Gin Road NE, between J Slagler Road and Hunts Gin Road in northern Gordon County. A free-standing barn (no walls) was heavily damaged. The metal roof, which was completely destroyed, was secured with hurricane straps to the four large round wooden posts and thrown into a small forest of trees downwind. Several larger trees were snapped or uprooted. Across Owens Gin Road, a few additional trees were snapped along with the majority of a metal roof pulled off a smaller (old) barn. The tornado likely lifted around this point. Max winds were estimated to be around 90 mph based on the barn damage. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the events and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$
